Before you call, it is fair to know exactly what is being promised. Four things, each one about this service rather than about anybody else’s work.
Someone answers, at any hour
This number is staffed around the clock, every day. The first call gets a person, not a queue that opens at nine.
You are never billed for this service
There is nothing to pay here. No sign-up, no fee for the introduction, no charge if you decide not to go ahead at all.
You are connected to a licensed local contractor
The connection goes to a licensed, insured independent contractor working in the Lakewood area rather than to a call centre two states away. Confirm the license and the insurance yourself before anyone starts — it is your right and your responsibility.
Not the right contractor? Call again
If the first connection does not work out — no call back, no show, or a quote you do not trust — ring the line again and you will be put through to a different contractor.
What is not being guaranteed here
These are commitments about a connection, not about construction. The contractor is an independent business and the job is their contract with you — so get the scope, the price and any workmanship guarantee from them, in writing, before work starts.
